Dani Cook, a senior at Ferris high school, enjoys writing and that interest led them to join FIN. “I wanted to see if I could apply my previous writing experience to journalism” they said. Some of Dani’s biggest influences are Elliot Page, a Canadian actor/producer who has played a massive role in furthering gender diversity in film, and their great grandfather, George Kruse, whose service in World War II prevented him from formally pursuing his dream of becoming an architect. While Dani loves writing, and they could see themselves as a journalist in the future, their biggest passion is in architecture. Dani plans to major in architecture with a minor in environmental sciences so that they can eventually open an independent architecture firm whose mission is to normalize sustainability at affordable prices.
